The short version: you give us your move details so removal companies can quote you. We share them with up to 5 removal companies per request — that's the whole point of the service, and it's the only reason we share them. The detail follows, in plain English.
What we collect
When you request quotes, we collect what the form asks for:
- Where you're moving from and to (postcodes or town names)
- Property size and type, and for flats the floor and lift situation
- Your moving date (or rough timing) and how flexible it is
- Optional extras — packing, storage, disassembly, special items, parking notes
- Your name, email address and phone number
- Basic technical context: the page you submitted from and any campaign tags in the address
We never ask for or hold payment details — Removly takes no payment from consumers.
Why we collect it
One reason: to get you removal quotes. The move details tell companies what to price; the contact details let them send you the quote. We also use aggregate, non-identifying patterns (how many requests come from a city, for example) to run and improve the service.
Who we share it with
Your request is shared with up to 5 removal companies that cover your area and services — never more, and each request states nothing beyond what you submitted. We don't sell your details to marketing lists, brokers or anyone else. Service providers that host our systems process data on our behalf under contract, and that's the full list.
Our lawful basis
Performance of the service you asked for: you request quotes, and sharing your details with quoting companies is how that service works. The form says exactly this at the point you submit, and submitting is your consent to be contacted by those companies about your move.
How long we keep it
12 months from your quote request, after which your personal details are deleted or fully anonymised. If you ask us to delete them sooner, we do — see your rights below.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can, at any time:
- Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you (access)
- Ask us to correct anything wrong (rectification)
- Ask us to delete your data (erasure)
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.ukif you think we've handled your data badly
Email contact@removly.co.ukfor any of these — we act on requests promptly and don't make you fill in forms to exercise your rights. Removly is required to be registered with the ICO as a data controller.
Cookies
Analytics cookies are off until you turn them on. When you first visit, we ask. If you choose Reject — or simply ignore the banner — Google Analytics is never loaded and sets nothing. If you choose Accept, it sets cookies that tell one visitor from another so we can see which pages actually help people move. It never tells us who you are. Your choice is remembered on your own device, and we don't ask again.
Two things are not covered by that choice, and we'd rather say so plainly than bury it. Google reCAPTCHA runs on the quote and partner forms to stop automated abuse, and the address suggestion box loads Google Maps when you click into it. Both may set cookies, and both only run when you actually use those forms — we treat them as necessary to provide the form itself rather than as analytics. Your browser also remembers your quote-form progress on your own device; that never leaves your machine unless you submit.
