When are the Blackpool Illuminations on?

The lights cover six miles of the Promenade, from Starr Gate to Red Bank Road, each autumn — the 2026 season runs from 4 September to 3 January 2027. Check Visit Blackpool for the current year's dates. If you live near the seafront, a morning load keeps the van clear of the evening traffic.

Is there a clean air zone in Blackpool?

No. Blackpool is not on the government's list of charging Clean Air Zones, so a removal van pays nothing extra to come in.

• Town centre, North Shore and South Shore (FY1) — the town centre and the seafront either side of it.
• Bispham and Moor Park (FY2) — the northern side of town.
• Layton, Marton, Grange Park and Stanley Park (FY3) — inland, where FY3 crosses into Fylde and Wyre.

The dispensation rules above are Blackpool Council's. An address in Wyre or Fylde follows that council's parking rules. The M55 reaches the town at junction 4, and the A585 bypass around Little Singleton fully opened in March 2024, which helps moves north to Fleetwood.
